A beautiful fall!

A post catching up on random fall time happenings!

This is our first Autumn in our new home and we are loving watching the leaves change around us! The best moments are spent sitting on the porch watching leaves falling like rain all around.

We also have a momma and baby deer that hang around almost every morning. We've been lucky enough to watch them from the back porch on several occasions.

Looking up at all the colorful leaves and clouds going by one perfect afternoon!

Trunk or treat at our church!

Little alligator.

Lyla getting ready to watch her big brothers trick or treat:)

Sweet babies!

Officially the first time Lyla slept in her crib...so I took a picture:) No I don't mean at night it will be awhile before that happens...but she napped for about an hour there!

My precious girl!

Love these two! Doing dishes together and making memories:)

Baby girl chillin outside while the boys played!

First trip to get ice cream! Though she just had to watch us eat:)

With uncle Kyle! He is a baby hog when he is around!

My sis in law holding Lyla therefore she is 'sitting' on her cousin Ameila who was still hanging out in the womb:) ~As I write this Brittany is in the hospital in labor! I can't wait to meet my beautiful new niece and Lyla's future best friend!

Beautiful sea shell chandelier Lyla's Grammy got her in North Carolina this past week! Perfect addition to her room!

Little stud.

Life is so crazy busy right now, but trying to take it all in! Surviving on very little sleep or rest, but getting by and functioning somewhat. I have run out of gas in the middle of a busy street and got lost driving somewhere I've previously been....but hey give me a break:) Also, I will have to come to terms with fact that I'm now a 'late person'. Even though it used to be my pet peeve. There is a rule that you get a 15 minute allowance per child, so just expect me to be 45 minutes late from here on out....well at least until some of these little people start wiping their own butts or getting themselves ready haha! Three is the official number where you have more children than you do arms and it can be overwhelming sometimes. Just taking it day by day and things have been going pretty smoothly for the most part! It's a little easier to keep in perspective and cherish the newborn stage when right before your eyes your first born is running around, dressing himself, writing his own name, telling you animal facts you didn't know yourself, buckling his own carseat....and you swear just yesterday he was placed in your arms....all you did was blink and he'll be starting school. I now know firsthand how fast it truly goes! Trying to store away her newborn smell, precious faces, tiny clothes, and all the little squeaks and grunts. Because before I know it I will blink again......

Lyla Grace's Birth Day.

I have been needing to write down all the memories of the day Lyla was born..before my mommy brain forgets some of them:) Obviously this talks about the birth of our daughter, but I don't get into to detail about that for your sake haha.

October, 12th 2013.

Just typing that date makes me cry (but what doesn't lol) because 6 days have already past and it's going too quick.

The number twelve has always been my family's 'lucky' number. We all had our guesses, but my mom 'claimed' the 12th as her pick for Lyla's debut. Little did we know she would actually come the 12th and in hospital room 12:)

Although real labor didn't officially start till the 12th about 5:30pm I will start with Thursday, the 10th, when I was getting ready for bed I started having contractions. Not very painful at first, but gradually grew stronger and closer together. Therefore I though that this was the start of something. From 10pm to 4am I stayed awake bc I was too uncomfortable to sleep with contractions coming every 7-10 min. At one point they became 5 min apart which is what your looking for so I woke Mason....then unexpectedly they grew back apart. Suddenly tapered off at 4am and I attempted to get a few hours of sleep after the 'excitement'. Waking a few hours later I was dissapointed I was not having a baby. NEVER had any type of 'false' labor with Breyton. With him my water just broke getting in to bed one night and then contractions hit hard and we had a baby in our arms a few hours later.

Anyways, went on with my day all of Friday and Saturday having no immenent  signs of labor, but sporadic contractions off and on.

Saturday morning I woke up at 6 and read my Bible and said prayers while still laying in bed. Though always focusing on praying for a healthy baby whenever God decided for her to come that morning I prayed for a baby today. At 39 weeks and being petite I felt stretched to my limits and tired of the aches and peeing 5 times a night...bc doesn't waking up to nurse a cute baby 5 times a night seem a little better at least!??

The day went on and I jokingly(well half serious) told Mason all day we are having a baby today. Anytime he'd say something about the evenings plans I said well doesn't matter because our daughter is coming today.

All morning and afternoon passed with no signs of labor.

Then I'm cooking dinner and about 5:30 I started having minor contractions and they became close enough to time at about 10-15 min apart. An hour later at 6:30 they were 6-7 min apart and I told mason we better get the boys ready and things in the car because I believe this was not a false alarm. A short 30 min later at 7:00pm I told him to hurry we needed to go now. We got the boys loaded in the car and locked up house and by 7:15 we were headed to hospital and my contractions were quickly getting close together at 3 min apart. Not a fun 35 min drive with 2 kids in the backseat!

Breyton is back there chattering away asking me a million questions about what was going on when I could barely talk through the pain....of course adding his humor by asking if  'he could tackle me or punch me in the stomach once Lyla was out' lol. Then he was saying, "Momma when Lyla comes out I'm gonna say she's sooo cute..are you?"

Finally arrived at the hospital and had to find correct entrance where Mason dropped me off so he could go find parking and unload the boys.

Of course at this point I'm in LABOR.

Therefore I'm trying to get to labor/delivery floor between contractions and of course I can't find a nurse because it's after hours I suppose. Then they want me to casually do paperwork. I think no one was expecting that I was about to have a baby...like any minute.

They had me in a waiting room of sorts while they got a delivery room ready. Our parents haven't made it, so both boys make it through pretty much my whole labor with me. My friend and photographer, Danielle, arrives first. (Like last time everyone else barely has time to get there before the birth) The nurse checked me and I was 5cm dilated with contractions 2-3 min apart. I was a little dissapointed I was 5cm considering my pain level lol. At 8:30 they moved me to delivery room and I'm begging for an epidural. I'm thinking at this point I still have a few hours to possibly to go bc I was at 7cm when arriving with Breyton and he was born 2.5 hrs later...and I'm in excruciating pain and can not imagine doing it for hours longer. Little did I know I was in 'transition' the worst part of all where you think you can't take it any longer (I remember that with Breyton as well) and about to need to push.

Anesthiologist(epidural guy) gets in the room and is in no hurry. Asking questions and typing away at his computer. Between tears and contractions I nicely, or not so nicely, ask if we could do this after I'm not in unbearable pain haha.

Finally he comes over and preps me then has me lean over the bed to place the needle and I say, "I feel like I need to push and now!" Probably not believing me he inserts needle anyways. I'm asking how long till this takes affect once medicine is in and he says 15-20 min. This is when I realize it's too late I'm having this baby naturally. Which is what I had planned for again and wanted...I just didn't think I could handle that intense of pain for hours. Thankfully it was really almost over:)

In a more serious voice I say, "I have to push now the baby is coming NOW!"

Therefore they didn't even bother to finish placing the epidural and I lay back in the bed while they frantically call my midwife and about 4 min later @ 9:14 pm they lay my daughter on my chest. Now that 4 min seemed like a eternity in the moment.... but then your child, the one you've waited 9 months, (or in our case over 2 years of praying and waiting for this child)  is laid on your chest and it's instantly all worth it.

I mean I'm looking at my daughter. I mean you can dream about this for 9 months, but it's surreal when it's actually happening.

They left her with me for a few hours for skin to skin bonding and closer to midnight they came to weigh her and get her measurements, etc.

Lyla Grace weighed 6lbs 1 oz and was 19.7 inches long. Completely perfect.

One bad thing about having a quick labor in my case was that I had tested GBS positive a few weeks ago(harmless bacteria that some mom's carry, but potentially dangerous for newborn) and you are supposed to have 1-4 hrs of antibiotics during labor/delivery and I didn't get a full hour, so poor miss Lyla had to have an IV to ward off a possible infection. I hated watching them try to get the IV port in because they stuck her multiple times before the got it right. We had to stay 48 hours due to the antibiotics, but we left at the 47 hour mark because I pleaded with them to not make us stay another night lol. We came home at 9pm Monday night and are sooo glad to be back in our own environment. Hospitals are no fun, though, I will say their bed with all the controls was something I wouldn't mind taking home:)

I can't believe this time last week Lyla was still wiggling around in my belly and now we are holding her in our arms. We fell in love with her so quick and can't imagine a life without her.  I well up with tears just looking at her sometimes and I sit and tell her about all the things we will do one day. So much has happened in just one weeks time and I can't wait for all the memories to come. I also can't wait for more sleep;)

Pregnancy tracker: Week 37

Chalkboard is back!

Size of baby: Winter melon

Total Weight gain: Weight gain has been kind of slowing down. Not sure why bc my appetite has not slowed down! Still at about 22lbs for my total thus far.

Maternity Clothes: I'm having trouble finding clothes that still fit this week! Shirts are short on covering the belly and baby is so low anything remotely snug feels uncomfortable. Almost there though! Lots of skirts, dresses, and sweatpants till then:)

Stretch marks: Still no new ones!

Sleep: I get up to pee a minimum of 3 times a night. No matter what! Limiting liquids before bed, etc does not change it. Also my hips have been either having shooting pain or going numb at night..I have to switch sides about every hour to relieve it. Didn't have that with Breyton!

Food cravings: Fruit..not picky this week. Anything sounds good:)

Symptoms: Still having Braxton hicks and now past day or two been having what feels like menstrual cramping as well. Found out I'm 2cm dilated at my appt last week!
She said baby was very low and that she could feel her head sitting right in my pelvis. No wonder I can't sit or lay with my legs together lol. I'm glad I have made some progress, but I was dilated at 4cm for a week before Breyton came...so doesn't tell me much:)

Best moment this week: I keep having dreams about going into labor or Lyla being here already...makes me so ready! Best moment this week though was having one last date night with the hubby before she arrives. We had so much fun! Also, trying to cherish this time with my 3 boys before our family is forever changed!

Gender: Girl

Movement: Still staying fairly active and has the hiccups all the time still!

What I miss: Getting to that point where I'm ready for her to be her now! I'm a little sad that this is probably my last time to experience pregnancy, but so desperately ready to see and hold her! I know it's best that she stays till closer to 38-39 weeks...so trying to be patient:))

What I'm looking forward to: We have definitely been doing major nesting around here! No deep cleaning can compare to moving lol. I've now washed every curtain, pillow, rug, etc and any other washable item in this house. Everything is deep cleaned...the hard part is keeping up with all the daily stuff. Just looking forward to meeting her now!!! It's all I think about and waiting to going into labor is always exciting....kind of love the anticipation!

Got the basinett all washed and set up this week as well! Just need a baby to put in it:)

Oh and I'm giving myself points because I managed to get a few freezer meals done before Lyla arrives! Our lives are going to be so chaotic with 3 littles ones, so having just a few meals pre made will help some! Completed two lasagna pans and chicken enchiladas...depending how long little miss stays in there I may get some more done.

Pumpkin patch fun this week as well:) The cutest photos are of the boys together, so I'm bummed I can't share them!

A pumpkin comparison of the belly:)

Being a boy Breyton definitely wanted a pic by the 'warty' pumpkins.

Pregnancy tracker: Week 36

Been working hard and organizing this house all day finally taking a break to rest and catch up!

Pics from a beautiful evening on the back porch.....so much gorgeous weather lately!
                    Growing belly!:)

Size of baby: Honeydew melon

Total Weight gain: 21.5 lbs

Maternity Clothes: Mostly anything stretchy!

Stretch marks: Still no new ones!

Sleep: You know just getting up to pee all night and usually up once with one of the boys for some reason or another!

Food cravings: Fruit. Not really picky this week....about anything sounds good:)

Symptoms: Practice contractions are becoming more frequent. Never anything consistent to make me even think its possibly labor.....plus my water broke with Breyton out of nowhere when the time came then after that contractions kicked in. I just keep thinking that will happen again, but I guess I better prepare for anything!

Best moment this week: Making it another week closer to the finish line! Next week is considered full term and I'll never take for granted having a healthy pregnancy and full term baby....just feel blessed!

Gender: Girl

Movement: Still rolling around....always sticking her bum, elbow, or foot out.....she's still head down though which is great!

What I miss: I'm still feeling pretty good and have energy most of the time....but I miss my body being mine again! lol Though in a sense it's a loong time before that happens really because with breastfeeding you are sharing yourself for a while longer haha, so probably about a year from now! At least the need to pee every 5 seconds and all the weird aches and pains will subside sooner than that:)

What I'm looking forward to: We finally got out car up for sell this week! Really hoping it sells in the next few weeks, so we can get a vehicle with a 3rd row! Also, the obvious of looking forward to this little girl being here. I didn't remember how bad baby fever can get while your pregnant! I just stare at Breytons newborn pics, or the little clothes, or other peoples newborns haha. All these hormones make it easy to forget how exhausting and emotionally tiring the newborn days are:)

Sooo close to meeting Lyla...and a baby D update.

Two more days and I'll be 37 weeks...full term.

Hard to believe! I could obviously have 3-4 more weeks to go if Lyla stayed cooking as loooong as she possibly could. However, considering that Breyton was born at 38 weeks, how often I'm having Braxton hicks, and other tell tell signs I would guess labor is no too far off. My husband still has this Saturday, 28th, as his pick for when she comes. I think that's a tad too early, so I'm sticking with the following week closer to the 5th. I'm sure we are both wrong haha, but we will see:))

No matter what we are getting close!!!!

I've had the opportunity to see two newborns this week and got to hold a close friends little girl last night. She was less than a week old and no matter how many times you are around newborns you never ever get over how tiny they are.

Breyton loved her and was a little upset or curious as to why she got to come out before Lyla lol.

I just can't wait to be holding and snuggling Lyla! The newborn phase is so completely exhausting, but I really hope to take it all in bc quite possibly my last time.

Anyways, finally got all of Lyla's things washed and her few things packed in the hospital bag! (Wish I could say the same for my stuff:) Man her outfits are sooo cute though! I wish a picture could do justice of how stinkin itty bitty they are. Even though they are newborn size if she is like her brother then they will still swallow her at first. Packed 3 options just incase.. The 'Lil sis Lyla' outfit was made by my friend and I just looove it! Then the little cupcake pants are so precious and lastly just a super soft comfy warm sleeper if weather is cooler.

Our house is coming together though! I feel like the state it is in is livable....and will make do because I know once we have a newborn (on top of the two ornery boys) then nothing is going to get done for awhile.

Since we can't fit our 3 carseats in our car..well technically we can we just cant close the doors...details details haha. Anyways, we finally had the chance to put our car up for sale on Saturday. We had someone come look at it tonight...but no offer. Praying very hard it sells this week~if its meant to be~then we can get a car with a 3rd row in the nick of time before baby girl gets here! That would be such a blessing. Otherwise one of our parents will have to drive the boys home from hospital and I'll be staying home pretty much until our car does sell lol!

Mason had training all today though and the lady was coming to see car when he got home, so I got to spend literally all day detailing and washing our car to get it ready to show. Just thankful that didn't put me into labor;)

What's left is needing the car to sell, a basinett or something for her to sleep in our room, and to finish packing my bag. I guess if she came early and those things still aren't done then we will make due! I'm done stressing about it all.

We are at the one year mark of when we lost our second baby last year and I will never forget that devastation. What a timely indescribable gift we are being given this year. Therefore all I really want is our baby girl to arrive safely in the next few weeks!

Lastly, on a different note I have not updated about baby D's status in awhile and that's because I have not had much to say! People have been asking though.

His bio mom is still in rehab and doing quite well there it seems. Not even sure how that makes me feel...so I can't tell you what I'm thinking.

On a positive we got a new caseworker who is appearing to be quite awesome. There was really no where to go but up from our last deadbeat one...but I'm really excited to have a new lady who seems eager to do whats best for the kids and just actually do her job.

The next court date is still October 24th..which should be interesting adding the newborn in the mix before then. I don't know what to expect on that date and don't know what to expect from mom in general. What we get to do is keep on loving mister D, praying hard, and wait, wait, wait. When (if ever) there is real news I'll update you with what I can!

All I know is God is good and he does have a plan. A complete mystery to me, but I can trust he will reveal it to me when the time is right.

Maternity pictures!

Finally squeezed in some maternity pics with Danielle Nicole Photography amongst all the business. Took these about 2 weeks back right before we closed on the new house....all the pictures are taken at the new house though and in our yard! Danielle did a good job considering we didn't have a very cooperative crowd that day lol. It was pretty hot outside still and the boys wanted to play not take pictures.

Here are the ones I can post that don't include baby D in them of course!

In front of our master bedroom window.

                                                        Door way of house.

Breyton is such an excited big brother when he wants to be:) Today he said, " I have a question!" ((His all time favorite phrase right now)) Then he said, " When Lyla gets here are you gonna gasp and say she's soo cuuutte? Because that's what I'm gonna say."
