The start of Breyton's first garden:)

We started the process of getting a very small scale garden going! We are currently planting tomato's, carrots, peppers, cucumber, and strawberries ....maybe a few others too. Breyton has enjoyed helping pick stuff out and definitely loved the dirt and planting seeds. Even though its harder we are starting from seeds because its much cheaper and trying not to invest more than necessary until we see if it's going to be successful.  We have a pretty redneck setup with random yogurt cups, styrofoam, and whatever other containers I had in the house, however it's working well. Our little seeds were planted last Monday the 20th, but are all already sprouting....B loves watching them come up and grow! Looking forward to this spring and summer;o)

Our mini, but amazing trip!

                          Start with some favorite pics!

....So as you can see our trip went AMAZING. If its possible to have too much fun I think Breyton did!
Starting off with swimming, slides, hot tubs and ending with sharks, sting rays, and every other sea animal there is.

We got to our hotel about 3pm on Wednesday checked in and changed into swimsuits super quickly and we were swimming by 3:30. We stayed in the water for close to 3 hours straight until all our hands were wrinkled up like prunes and ears water logged lol. It was so hard to get out of the water knowing it was our only chance to get to enjoy it because the next day was going to be too busy! I already wish we were back in it and need to figure out how to get an indoor pool asap hehe.

Something about the water makes you super starving, so we immediately changed back into winter attire and headed across the street for a homestyle meal at a restaurant. Stuffed ourselves with chicken fried steak, chicken and dumplings, okra, green beans, rolls and ending with peach cobbler topped with ice cream......yuuummm. Now we were all full and worn out so went back to the room where Breyton played with telephones, lamps, ice bucket, and everything else that intrigued him about the hotel room for about 45 minutes till it was time to get tucked in. We had 2 queen size beds in the room, so B got an entire bed(plus 4 huge pillows) to himself which he loved! He slept pretty great on it and makes me even more excited to get his bigger bed ready at home.

Next morning B had us awake at 6:45 and we had to get ready for Masons award ceremony which started at 9am and lasted till 11:30. Breyton as always was not shy at all and shook other police officers hands and went around roaring at people before and after the ceremony like he was a dinosaur...he never has trouble getting attention! Afterwards we left to head to the aquarium and B got an hour nap in the car to re-energize for the afternoon!

Started off at the aquarium by heading to the shark tunnel because they feed the sharks at 1:30 and we didn't want to miss it! This was Mason and I's favorite part because we love sharks and it was neat getting to watch them eat and see Breyton's fascination. Looking forward to getting to do a shark cage adventure in the future even more! Next we went all through the aquarium seeing everything including a tank with clown fish(Nemo) and Dory together. When it came down to it Breyton's favorite part was definitely petting the sting rays! He always asked to go back to it and we spent an hour probably with the sting rays. He also got to touch a starfish and sea cucumber and he thought it was pretty neat!

Sadly the day had to end.... and we listened to Breyton saying "go back, turn around, wanna see shark, see stingray" for close to 2 hours on the way home! Oh and he had to go potty right when we where in a spot that had no exits for 15 miles..he was saying "hurry, don't pee pee in floor!"(because that's what I used to say)....so we pulled off to side of road after realizing he probably wouldn't make it and right as Mason pulled down his pants and opened door he started 'going' and it went all over car door and Mason (hehe)...extra good memories, right?! All in all we had so much fun and will definitely be going back hopefully making this an annual little trip for a many years while we have younger kids!

Things to remember -January

January has been a surprisingly busy month as we adjust to new schedules! Mason's school scheduled changed and its messing up our old routines....so we are figuring out new ones as we go! Its kind of a bummer because he has to go to class every single day right in the middle of his sleep. Plus, having only one car can occasional make it a challenge if there's somewhere I need to be. However, we just have to survive till May...the end is in sight! We don't get to go down to our parents on his 'weekend' anymore either because of it, so Breyton has been doing a few 'sleepovers' at the grandparents to make up for it! This is also his first full month potty trained, but it feels like its been longer than that!
This month we spent time figuring out B's big boy room and getting things ordered. Almost everything will be in this next week and I'm so looking forward to putting everything together.....though it may be a few weeks since I'll need Masons help and we have too much going on right now, but will be worth the wait. Plus I'll be doing a bunch of DIY projects for the room(thanks to pinterest and to save money) we will see how my minimal sewing and painting skills hold up.
Here are a few of the sweet and crazy memories Breyton created this month:
1) So we got netflix. Its good and bad lol. Breyton loves it, but we probably spend way too much time watching tv now! Anyways, he loves documentaries. He prefers them over kids shows sometimes and its rather funny to watch him watching them!

2)This month he is still obsessed with coyotes, but now dinosaurs are starting to take over. I've gotten several videos because he goes around all day roaring loudly and picking his legs up high to stomp around like a dinosaur. And of course he's not happy unless Mason and I pretend to be scared and run!

3) He's got a lot of new phrases he's saying that are funny to us...I think just because of the 'grown-up tone' he says them in. Just a few I can think of right now:
-"I'm coming!" ( if you call for him)
    -"Thats,cool!"
-"Did you see that??!" (Every single time he does anything worth noting!)
    -"Watch me!" (Loves an audience.)

4) He's always had a good arm for throwing things and its just getting better. He can aim at something and hit it square on even from a good distance!

5) When he's saying good bye to anything and everything he always says, "Bye-bye, see-ya-later, see-ya-n the morning! Bye, see ya in the morro(tomorrow)". He makes it a big long sentence repeating it all over a few times. Funny thing is he says it to everything...like random planes, the sun or moon, and he of course says it on occasion to pee/poop he flushes after he goes potty. Got to love the minds of  2 year olds!

6) He got to help pick out stuff for his new room and really loves some of it! He sort of 'chose' his bedding and after it came in he dragged it around and layed on it because he wouldn't let me put it up at first.

7) Almost every naptime and night he picks something to take to bed with him. A lot of the time he choses very hard toys like a dinosaur or bunch of little animals, but still lines them up by pillow to sleep next to. If they go missing in the night first thing in the morning he has his light on(before I even go in there) to find them.

Thats a few of this past months favorites! Really looking forward to some things in February....most of all next week we are going to stay in a hotel in Tulsa that has mini waterpark for Breyton and taking him to the big aquarium up there too! Can't wait!

Mason went to lay in B's room to get him asleep and
after awhile I went in there and
found  them both sound asleep next to each other=)

What is it about sleeping babies?!!!

Just soooooo peaceful and precious!
I LOVE watching Breyton sleep.
Maybe because it's the only time he's still, but nonetheless I love it.
I can go sit in his room just to watch him breathe and usually spend time praying over him for God's protection and that he will grow to be a man who follows and loves our great God. Mason calls it a little bit creepy, but I call it a mom thing=)

Today at nap time he insisted to sleep with his shirt off lol and I found him snuggled next to his Mr. Mouse buddy.
And here we are watching him sleep the day we brought him home from the hospital...he's grown soo much.

Father and son

I love when Mason and Breyton get to have quality father/son time! Its great for the two of them to bond and gives me a little time to get things done or have some quiet time to myself. Mason has always been a great father and I'm very thankful for that, but over past few weeks Breyton went through a major phase were he only wanted mama. It was bad.
For some unknown reason only I could do EVERYTHING....he didn't want Mason helping with baths, with getting dressed, with any snacks/food, washing hands, going to the potty, reading books, bedtime, I could go on and on. He always said "no, mama do it!" and had screaming fit if Mason did. Thankfully....very thankfully this only lasted about two weeks because it was rather draining! The hardest part was bedtime because that's Mason's main 'task' :). I gave in and did it a few nights because you would have thought it was the end of the world to Breyton for dad to put him to bed for a couple nights.....then as suddenly as this phase started it ended for no known reason.
According to my very brief  'research' I suppose it can be a pretty normal thing for some toddlers to go through so I guess it was just a short lived phase.Things are back to normal and Breyton happily lets daddy help do most things as was before. Mason is more glad its over than me I think because it sort of hurt his feelings when Breyton made such a big deal over it all!
Breyton is actually back to preferring 'play time' with Mason because after all he's the more fun parent lol. Here's Mason trying to teach Breyton how to play football....B was all about the tackling and stealing the football!

Things to remember-December

My sweet sweet little man is getting so big. Here are some favorites for December:

1) He loves Finding Nemo...we watch it almost every. single. day.
2) Sometimes wants to hold my hand while falling asleep.
3) Potty training went amazingly well and he has been such a big boy about it! Tells us every time yelling "peepee, hurrry!, peepee!"
4) He looks so cute in his 'hanes' underwear:)
5) Will help sing along and do motions to "My God is so big, so strong and ALMIGHTY! There's nothing    my God can not do!"
6) Asks me to sing 'sunshine song' when we are rocking. Aka "You are my Sunshine"
7) Had soo much fun opening presents.
8) Loves to try to repeat everything we say.
9) He really loves his grandparents and asks to go to "grammy's house" or "meem's and papa's" often.
10) When I get too busy he asks me over and over to "sit, play trucks mommy". He just wants me to sit and be with him.
11) He is getting so smart and can tell from miles away when we are almost 'home' or to the grandparents house.
12) When its time to go somewhere and he doesn't really want to he says in the sweetest voice "wanna stay home with mommy". Melts my heart.

There are so many other things I could type, but these are just a few from this past month that are special to me<3

Merrry Christmas*2011

I'm a little sad writing this the morning after Christmas....I can't believe its already over! This season went way too fast and I'm not ready to take down the tree or decor and for Christmas music to stop being on the radio! Breyton had the best time over the weekend though. He has always been a people person and loves all the attention he gets at gatherings. Breyton is the only little kid on either side as I have mentioned before, so he is THE entertainment at family get togethers. I will say that child is never lacking on energy or craziness! He can go ALL day.... and Saturday he did....he didn't nap once and was up far past his bedtime still running around laughing and being silly. Thankfully Christmas day he did fit in a short nap, however he was up till almost midnight which has never happened before, but with the business and excitement of the day it was to be expected. Each year gets better and better with Breyton at Christmas because he understands more and gets really excited! B got plenty of presents and was really into opening them this year and loved everything he got. I got a few priceless videos that will be so fun to look back on some day of him opening stuff and the facial expressions he made!
This year was also very special because it was our first Christmas to have miss Brooklynn! Breyton really loves his cousin and talks about "Brook-en" a lot. She is a very sweet and special baby to our family and with her hard beginning it really is an answer to prayer that she was here with us to celebrate this holiday! We all love her so much and cant wait to watch my niece grow because she is already such a beautiful baby girl who is proof God does miracles everyday.
As much as we enjoy watching them get gifts we always want Jesus to be the center of our Christmas. Even though Breyton is still young we started doing small things to make sure he grows up knowing the real 'reason of the season'. I look forward to many things for future years to come....but this year we mostly cherished Breyton being a little boy still and how he gets excited about all the little things! And of course getting to spend time with all our family eating good food. This Christmas will definitely be a special memory and we are truly so blessed to have Breyton and Brooklynn in our lives!

I don't have all the favorite pics uploaded to the computer yet, but here's a few from Christmas day:
