Lyla~ 11 months old.

The last monthly post before the big 1 year!!! I have not taken your chair pic, but plan to tomorrow...just a few days late:)

• You haven't had your weight checked this past month, but would guess your around 17.5-18 lbs...still wear 6-9 months stuff and have itty bitty feet!

• You are a great eater! You have tried just about everything and love it all except cheese!!! Which is just crazy to me. That was(and still is) one of both your brothers favorite foods. You will not eat it by itself though...always spit it out. You have started eating it some on quesadillas, pizza, etc.

• Still nursing every 3 hours or so, but only for about 5 min. You nurse overnight about 2 times still as well. Probably will start having some milk in a cup this next month to practice a slow transition.

• Your favorite thing to do is to walk, walk, walk! Technically your still practicing to do it on your own, but you walk behind anything you can find to push all day. Standing on your own and have taken a step by yourself a few times. We joke that we should put a pedometer on you bc you walk up and down the hall 100 times a day haha! You are definitely my latest walker...but you'll be there soon enough:) You won't be as late as your mom was being 13-14 months before walking.

• Love baths still and giggle almost the whole time.

• Your top two teeth have now came through so you have 4 total. The ones on the side of the top two appear to be next!

• Sleep had improved at night earlier this month. For about 7-8 days you were only waking once or twice all night. The nights you woke once meant you were doing a 7/8 hr stretch. Which was awesome! Then the night before you turned 11 months you woke up 3 times again;(

• While nights had improved you naps declined quite a bit! This entire month you took 30-40 min naps twice a day and that was it. No matter what I tried you refused to sleep anymore. Surprisingly you are still happy, however, mommy has not been happy about the catnaps. This too shall pass.

• All in all you are learning new things everyday and usually are a joy to be around even if you don't sleep much!

Sometimes I just look at you and can't stand how cute you are. Ok all the time I think that. Your so adorable and sweet that it makes up for you trying to kill me with sleep deprivation.

The boys birthday party and first of school!

Im a little behind on posting things, but catching up a some today.

The boys double birthday party was 3 weeks ago and they had so much fun. I can't believe another year has passed! I love being able to have them a double party and they love it too..for now at least! Hope that sticks around awhile;)

God always has a funny way of knowing what's best even when you think it's not what you want. When we started trying to have Breyton a sibling I always said I wanted he/she to be born any month but August bc I didn't want them to share a birthday month. Ha! Not only did Breyton's first sibling come through a different means than I imagined, but sweet little Sean was an August birthday as well. Now having three kids I am soo thankful that the two boys share a birthday month because planning two parties instead of three is a little easier on me and everyone attending plus the boys enjoy getting to open toys together and celebrate together!

Something we started when Breyton turned one was going out to eat a birthday breakfast as a family the morning of..something we don't really ever do, so it's special:) Now we continue this tradition every year for all three kiddos!

The boys had a shark themed pool party. Breyton is fascinated with sharks(all animals really) and with shark week right after it seemed fitting!

I usually make the kids cake for their birthdays because I try to keep party planning budgets less than $50 total now that we have three kids....and buying a cake can cost close to that alone! However, a few days before the party I discovered Sam's clubs sells 30 cupcakes for $14.90. You can't hardly make them cheaper than that when you factor in time and dishes, so it was a win! I just got plain cupcakes and cut out shark fins from grey paper to stick on top.  Cheap and cute:)

Now on to school update:
 

Breyton had his first day of school this past week! After lots of  discussion we decided we didn't want him to be the youngest in his grade with an August birthday, so he is in pre-k this year and will start kindergarten next year. Thank goodness because kindergarten is all day now..unlike when we were in school! I'm not quite ready for that, so hopefully this year preps me:) This was also after the great debate of whether or not to homeschool. After lots of prayer we both felt at peace to send Breyton to public school...at least for now! The great part is we can always change that decision if problems arise in the future and we feel called to teach at home. For now though I'm so happy with our decision...its a relief for me to have someone else take that role right now. Incase you haven't met Breyton he is very strong willed and we would have butted heads a lot;)

He really is excited about school and looks forward to going! Breyton loves being around other kids and has always been very social, so I didn't worry about that part. Plus, I know him and he learns/functions better in a class setting. I told him after the first day that I had missed him and couldn't wait to hear about his day. Then I asked him if he missed me and he said, "no."  Haha! Actually that makes me happy to hear!

Though this second week he has told me several times that he missed me:)

On a side note I've even cutting this kids hair myself for 5 years and never once had a major mess up...until the night before his first day of school I was trimming his 'bangs' bc they were in his eyes and he moved and I messed them up big time. Then I went slightly shorter....and it got worse. Finally had to go even a little shorter and had them fixed for the most part ..we just swept them to the side till the grow a little more. He looks cute no matter what though:o)

 Putting away his backpack! That backpack was actually my brothers from when he started school! In good shape for being over 20 yrs old!

I may have shed some tears on the first day, but that's my right after raising a little person for 5 yrs:) All in all I'm very excited for him and we both enjoy the few hours break. Plus, I have two little people still at home to keep me plenty busy!!!

I'm finding these monthly 'birthdays' posts to be getting more emotional for momma. Ten months is awfully close to one year and that just breaks my heart pretty much! I kind of need my baby to stay a baby longer! 

Everyone always says they've never seen a baby smile as much as you do and I'd have to agree. You may not be the best sleeper, but I can't complain about your temperament! You almost always have a big beautiful grin on your face! 

•You had a check up just a week and half ago. You weighed 16.2 lbs (2nd percentile for weight) and 26 inch long(10-15 percentile for height). Still little bitty on the charts! 

•You play very well--with your brothers around especially:) As long as your not sick you will crawl all over the house and stay pretty happy exploring unless its nap time or eatin time! I do notice when your bubba's are gone you get bored or fussy much easier. I guess that's pretty obvious since they are the entertainment!

•You just love food! If one of the boys gets a snack you come crawling over trying to steal it and will cry if we don't get you something. Three meals a day and nursing very 3hrs or so around that. You eat pretty much eat everything we eat that's healthy still. No baby food at all anymore because you close your lips tight if I try to put a spoon near you...you have to be able to pick it up and feed yourself or your not eating it. 

•You are pulling up on everything and cruising along furniture. Started walking behind your baby walker push toy this past week as well. It doesn't seem possible that it's almost time for you to be walking!! Even though both your brothers were walking the week they turned 10 months. I'm not quite ready for that yet.

•You love to dance! Anytime we turn on music you start boppin up and down or swaying..so cute!

•Two bottom teeth have been through for a little while and two top teeth have been so close to breaking through! They actually look like they are in bc they stick out so far and are white almost from pressure...poor baby:(

•You crawl around outside and get filthy just like your brothers! You wear pants usually to keep from scratching up your legs and they always look like this when we come in:

• You say mama and dada to the correct person now:)

• Sleep: Still waking a minimum of two times a night. Sometimes you wake 3-4 times which is not fun!! 

• Naps: You have dropped the 3rd nap or evening cat nap. Typically nap from 10-11:30/12 in the morning and then take a 30 min-1 hour nap around 3:00 and then bedtime around 7:30/8:30 depending.
